Motivated by supporting mental wellbeing in their local community, The Friendship Club in Peterborough hosted a Bank Holiday Craft Day on Monday 30th August at the Focus Centre. The event, their first of 2021, was made possible by the commitment of volunteers and a grant of £500 from our Good Life Fund.

A team of nearly 70 runners ran the TTP Cambridge Half Marathon on Sunday 17th October, raising over £20,000 to support our services.

At 12 years old, Megan faced the heartbreak of losing both of her parents to suicide. Now aged 25 and a mother herself, she is sharing her experiences to raise awareness and support others having suicidal thoughts to stay safe.

Last season, Melbourn FC challenged themselves to run or walk a combined 6,000km – the distance between their home ground to the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul and back – to raise money for us. Now, the club have chosen to continue raising awareness of mental health and supporting us for the 2021/22 season.

On Saturday 14th August, St Ives Rangers Black Soxs Under 17s were beaten 4-3 by the Haywain Restaurant Veterans in a tightly contested football match. Despite the result, everyone involved went home happy having achieved their aim of raising money for us.

For Justin Haywood, life had become tough. Undiagnosed mental health problems coupled with life events led to mental health crises. However, Justin’s life took a positive turn when he starting attending our Personality Disorder Service – and he hasn’t looked back since.

More than £3,000 was raised for us, as Team CPSL Mind beat off the competition to secure top spot on the ‘Minds In Action’ virtual challenge leaderboard.

Specialist running store, Advance Performance, will be supporting runners fundraising for us, through a free preparation event. On Sunday 5th September, from 4-9pm, runners for us will be equipped with skills and expertise to support them in completing the Cambridge Half Marathon in October.

William Whitney, a young man from St Neots, tragically took his own life earlier this year. His loved ones, including dad Steve, were left devastated. Determined to do something in his memory, Steve, as Captain of St Neots Golf Club, organised a Charity Captain’s Day for us.

Determined to face her fears and to raise money for CPSL Mind, Claire entered the Spartan Challenge, which took place in November at Twickenham stadium, an event packed with thousands of people.
