Be a stay-at-home hero – take the 2.6 Challenge

The 2.6 Challenge will launch on Sunday 26th April – what should have been the date of the 40th London Marathon, the world’s biggest one-day annual fundraising event.

What is the 2.6 Challenge?

The 2.6 Challenge will launch on Sunday 26th April – what should have been the date of the 40th London Marathon, the world’s biggest one-day annual fundraising event.

We’re asking you to take part in an activity of your choice based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and fundraise or donate to support CPSL Mind.

How do I get involved?

People of all ages are taking on the 2.6 Challenge with a host of activities – from walking, running or cycling 2.6 miles, to practising mindfulness for 26 minutes, to reading 26 books, to holding online workouts or coffee mornings with 26 friends.

The ideas are endless and there is something for all the family. For kids it could be drawing 26 rainbows or building the tallest Lego tower in 26 minutes or finding 26 items which start with a different letter of the alphabet.

Check out this guide for more ideas and inspiration.

There are no rules apart from the Government guidelines on social distancing and how to exercise safely during this time. Whatever you can do, the main thing is to get active, have fun and donate whatever you can to our charity.

How will my donation be spent?

The money raised from this challenge will go towards supporting local people from Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire who are struggling with their mental health. This includes supporting the new Lifeline Plus helpline service. We are running this service in partnership with Lifecraft and a range of voluntary organisations to deliver a wellbeing helpline, providing listening support, guided self-help and wellbeing/safety plans to those who need a ‘listening ear’ or are struggling with their wellbeing during the Coronavirus pandemic.

How do I sign up or donate?

You can start fundraising by setting up a special 2.6 Challenge Just Giving page here. Start your challenge and get sharing your fundraising page with your friends and family.

Or you can simply donate via the Two Point Six Challenge Just Giving page – just type in ‘CPSL Mind’ in the search box.

Help inspire others by sharing photos or videos of your challenge on social media using the official hashtag #TwoPointSixChallenge. Remember to tag us @cpslmind on Facebook or Twitter.

If you have any questions or need support with your fundraising, please get in touch.

Thank you so much for your support – you are a true Home Hero!
