CPSL Mind were overwhelmed this weekend to receive an enormous cheque for £8,040.20 raised by the wonderful members of Elton Furze Golf Club.

Having been chosen as their charity of the year by their three Captains, David Pope, Bill Livingstone and Janet Elliott, the Haddon based golf club organised a variety of fundraising activities including; curry nights, raffles, name the bunny, a black tie dinner, auctions, donations in lieu of Christmas cards and many other fun activities. Members gave generously throughout the year with all donations going towards the local mental health charity.

David Pope (Club Captain) said, “Mental health is such an important issue. We all know someone who has struggled with depression or anxiety and it is so important that services are available when people need support. CPSL Mind do an amazing job, especially helping people in mental health crisis through their Sanctuary service both in Peterborough and Cambridge. We are so pleased we have been able to help such a great local charity.”

Zoe Doherty, Fundraiser for CPSL Mind said, “We are simply overwhelmed to receive such an enormous donation. A huge thank you to David, Bill and Janet for choosing CPSL Mind to support. One in four of us at any one time will have a diagnosable mental health condition. This incredible donation will be used to help local people, many of whom are experiencing a mental health crisis, to get the professional support they need. A huge thank you to everyone who was involved.”
